[Opening Stanza as Delivered at the LaTourelle Falls: 3/3/95]
Longstanding hour in quiet moment's peace
So great and green, this temple where we pray.
We come to bid farewell a friend today
and grant him greater bounty, sweet release.
[Opening Stanza as Delivered at the Memorial Service: 3/4/95]
Longstanding hour in quiet moment's peace
This silent moment opened that we may
together bid farewell a friend today
and grant him greater bounty, sweet release.
His path upon the planet short but wide,
We smile, recall his tender love within.
He touched so many, gave so much, and then
was called to touch again, the Other Side.
Though we still here within our lives may feel
some deep and aching sadness where he stood,
'Tis best to know that all in time is good,
that even pain and sadness, too, reveal.
Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust
So as with Time, so here we must
Release the ties, the bonds set free,
That Scott may find Eternity...
